San Antonio falls to 1-2 on the season. They will be looking for answers on both sides of the ball this weekend against undefeated Birmingham.
Orlando Leaves Memphis Winless
The Memphis Express remained winless on Saturday night, but there was still cause for celebration. Backup QB Zach Mettenberger provided a significant spark off of the bench for Memphis, throwing for 120 yards and two TDs in the second half. The Express are 0-3, but they have found an answer at QB.
Orlando remained perfect, behind the savvy QB play of Garrett Gilbert. Gilbert ran for a TD late in the game and tossed a long bomb from the 45 yard line on 4th and 8 to propel the Apollos.

Birmingham proves to be too much for Atlanta
Trent Richardson and the Birmingham Iron ruined the home debut for the Atlanta Legends. Richardson ran for three touchdowns. The Iron defense also continued its dominance of opposing AAF offenses, holding Atlanta to only 12 points. The Iron are allowing only seven points per game so far on defense. Pair that with the consistent QB play of Luis Perez, and the Iron are early contenders for the AAF championship game.

The lone bright spot for Atlanta came late in the game when the Legends converted the first onside recovery in the history of the AAF.
Salt Lake City Stampedes Over Arizona.
After starting 0-2, the Stallions were eager to get back to Salt Lake City to host their first home game. They did not disappoint their fans. Salt Lake City knocked off Arizona in dominating fashion. This eliminated Arizona from the ranks of the unbeaten.
Perhaps worse than losing the game, Arizona also lost starting quarterback John Wolford. The extent of his injuries has not been released.
